Pakistani IT Industry Looking At $100 Million in Export Orders At ITCN Asia: Expert

Information technology is currently the only sector in Pakistan that can reduce the trade deficit, stabilize the rupee-dollar exchange rate, generate millions of jobs, and project a positive image of Pakistan on the global stage, according to Noman Said, a globally renowned information technology expert and entrepreneur of Pakistani descent.

Noman Said voiced his confidence that Pakistan can gain up to $100 million in export orders through this exhibition of Pakistani talent in this critically important event, based on information from global markets.

It is important to remember that the 23rd Edition of ITCN Asia will take place in Karachi from August 30 to September 2 and that hundreds of IT companies, including Pakistani IT services exporters specifically, will attend.

According to Noman Said, the following obstacles must be removed by the government in order to give Pakistani IT companies an equal playing field with other national and international players:

declare a flexible foreign exchange regime for the IT industry to allow them to use their earnings in foreign exchange as the IT industry is completely entwined with the global financial system. declare the IT industry irrevocably tax-free for a decade – regardless of any change in the government.

The SBP, FBR, and SECP should establish unified, accommodating policies for fostering the development of the nation’s IT industry.
MoITT should launch national-level training programs in the following fields: artificial intelligence (AI); game creation; fintech; digitalization of governance; blockchain technology; and app development.

Noman Said also mentioned that the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) has made IT one of its primary focus areas and argued that IT is a sector that can spur growth in all other sectors thanks to its productivity-multiplying effects of automation, digitization, and machine learning.

According to Noman Said, a globally recognized information technology expert and entrepreneur of Pakistani descent, the information technology sector is currently the only one in Pakistan that can reduce the trade deficit, stabilize the rupee-dollar exchange rate, create millions of jobs, and present a favorable image of Pakistan on the international stage.

Based on data from international markets, Noman Said expressed his belief that Pakistan might receive up to $100 million in export orders as a result of the display of Pakistani talent at this crucial event.
