Huawei Mate 60 Pro Quietly Launched With Massive Upgrades and Dual Tone Design

The Mate 60 Pro, Huawei’s most recent flagship, was recently surreptitiously listed in retail outlets in China without any significant teaser marketing or an official launch event, shocking the tech industry.

This listing provides the complete spec sheet, the phone’s price, and promotional pictures.

Design and Presentation

The display, which features three punch holes that house the selfie camera and the 3D Time of Flight (ToF) sensor, is arguably the most exciting feature. Large notches and multiple selfie cameras are nothing new for Huawei, but this is the first time we’ve seen three separate punch-hole cutouts like this.

Huawei has unveiled a sizable 6.82-inch 10-bit LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 2720 x 1260 pixels and a flexible 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate. By adding a layer of second-generation Kunlun Glass on top of the screen, the Mate 60 Pro enhances the visual experience.

The upper part of the White and Green variations is made of glass, while the Purple and Black models have a faux leather finish.

Internal Components and Software

The phone’s processor is the one element the listing omits, but we assume it will be Huawei’s own Kirin 9000 flagship SoC. This is coupled with up to 1 TB of storage and 12 GB of RAM. A nano memory card can increase storage.

This is the first phone to receive Huawei’s upgraded Harmony OS 4.0 software. Additionally, the Huawei Mate 60 Pro expands its functionality by enabling satellite messaging in China.

The recognizable main camera ring features a well-known 50 MP primary module outfitted with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF), a feature also present in the Mate 50 Pro and P60 Pro.Notably, its variable aperture may be set anywhere between f/1.4 and f/4.0.

The third camera incorporates a 48 MP sensor and an f/3.0 telephoto lens along with OIS and AutoFocus (AF), while the ultrawide-angle camera has a 12 MP sensor and an f/2.2 lens to join this one.

The selfie camera arrangement, which has an alien-like appearance, consists of a 13MP ultrawide unit and a 3D TOF sensor.

Battery and Price

Strong 5,000 mAh battery that supports both 50W wireless charging and quick 88W wired charging powers the gadget. Impressively, it even provides a 20W reverse wireless charging option.

Although the Huawei Mate 60 Pro has storage options of 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB, the Chinese online site only lists the 512 GB model at $960. This indicates that the base pricing will likely be less than $900.
