Huawei Mate 60 Launched for $200 Less Than Pro With Only Small Differences

Yesterday, the Huawei Mate 60 Pro debuted covertly on a Chinese shopping website, and today, the standard Mate 60 has done so in the company’s home market.

The regular Mate 60 lacks satellite connectivity and only has a single punch-hole for the selfie camera, which is the most noticeable difference between the two phones.

Design and Display

While the Mate 60 Pro has a slightly curved display, the standard Mate 60 chooses a flat OLED screen with a 1080p resolution (2688 x 1216 pixels) and a steady 120Hz refresh rate. It is a 10-bit screen with excellent color accuracy that supports 1440Hz PWM dimming.

Similar to the Pro version, this one has a dual-tone design on the rear panel with a smoother finish at the bottom of the phone. The IP68 dust and water resistance is still present.

Hardware and software

Although the phone’s chipset has not yet been disclosed by Huawei, it will be paired with up to 12 GB of LPPDR5 RAM and 1 TB of UFS 3.1 storage. One of the uncommon flagship gadgets with a memory card slot, albeit a nano one, is this one.

It launches Harmony OS 4.0 in China for software.

The primary and ultrawide cameras are largely the same in terms of the camera arrangement. The 50MP primary sensor on the spherical main camera has optical image stabilization (OIS), and its variable aperture can be adjusted from f/1.4 to f/4.0.

The 48MP telephoto camera has been downgraded to 12MP, although it still has OIS, 5x optical zoom, and 50x digital zoom. The ultrawide camera is likewise the same 12MP device.

A 13MP selfie camera is housed in the only punch-hole cutout on the screen. Like the Pro model, we predict it will be able to shoot 4K video at 60 frames per second.

Battery and Price

A 4,750 mAh battery with 66W cable charging capabilities powers the Mate 60. The phone supports easy 7.5W reverse wireless charging as well as 50W wireless charging.

In China, the Huawei Mate 60 has a starting price of $750, which is more than $200 less than the Pro model. Black, silver, and purple are the hues that are offered.
